Mini Mimi here. So September has been a busy month for us all here at Mimi’s. I have been trying out some recipes for Christmas, as the weather is getting that bit colder! I have come up with a delicious gingerbread recipe, which you must all try with my Dad Mikes gingerbread latte. Perfect combination.
Christmas Menu
We have also written up our Christmas menu, view it here. This year at Mimi’s we are hosting a few Christmas evenings for those of you who want to enjoy with family, friends or work colleagues. Just give us a call on 0131 555 5908 or email us at info@mimisbakehouse.com Get yourselves booked in fast as bookings are already filling up.
The dates are Thurs 13th, Fri 14th, Sat 15th, Thurs 20th, Fri 21st & Sat 22nd December, all bookings can be taken on these evening between 5pm – 9pm.
Wedding Cakes
This month we also did wedding cakes for Mr & Mrs King at The Prestonfield House hotel. What a lovely wedding venue! Just looked fab. We did Chocolate Vanilla Marble cupcakes & a large cupcake for the cutting cake. We also did the favours, which were mini slices of Mint Aero & Mars Bar Krispy cake, was a lovely idea. We really enjoyed doing the cake & favours. Congratulations to the bride & groom.
BBC Pramface came in this month to do filming for season 2. Which was very exciting, all the cast & crew came in after opening hours & turned Mimi’s into a set which looked amazing, just like Hollywood! One of our lovely waitress’s Aine was asked to feature in Pramface as an extra, She did such a great job & will have an appearance as a waitress in the Mimi’s scene of season 2, we will keep you all posted when the new season starts & when Mimi’s will be famous.
New cake creation
This week Mimi rustled up a few chocolate mint Battenburgs, not sure if we are allowed to officially call them Battenburgs as we did not have marzipan covering it, but it is Mimi’s spin on Battenburg! When it comes to cakes there is no wrong way or right, as long as it tastes delicious you can come with your own creations. Experimenting is the key to a good baker!

Last but not least we have been working on our website, so we have had photographer Luigi Di Pasquale taking photos of all the cupcakes & celebrations cakes we do at Mimi’s, so you will all be able to have a look on our website for ideas for birthdays, weddings, baby showers or any other event.
